Objectives

Recognize the differing levels of content and depth related to the prayer needs of your family
Assess the consistency and quality of your own prayers as they relate to your family and how they can be enhanced
Engage with your children on asking them about specific areas for prayer and support. Ask and don't assume.

BIG IDEA

As grandparents, we want to model in very tangible ways that we live in the presence of a sovereign, loving God who wants us to talk to him.

The Christian Grandparenting Networks Prayer Ministry page lists specific options to encourage, equip and empower grandparents to pray regularly for their children and grandchildren, both privately and corporately.

A jumpstart guide to regular prayer from the Family Matters Ministry. By signing up for the 31 Days of Prayer by email, you will receive the Family Matters email newsletter, which includes regular emails sent twice monthly, as well as special announcements throughout the year.

This is a call for local prayer groups to form for the specific purpose of praying for grandchildren. There are a number of ways to structure the program. Some of the G@P groups are using the book Grandparenting with a Purpose: Effective Ways to Pray for your Grandchildren as a discussion guide found at GDPTPR.COM.
