Week 2: Biblical Worldview

For
as he thinks within
himself, so he is.

Proverbs 23:7

Objectives

  • Understand the definition of a
worldview and the major worldviews prevalent today.
  • Understand how a worldview impacts daily decisions, ongoing behavior and long term consequences
  • Recognize the importance of a
    biblical worldview in providing an
    objective based framework for
    living life.

BIG IDEA

Worldviews reflect personal values that impact decisions and behavior. Grandparents should be able to explain, assess and defend their worldview.

Expressive Individualism

Dr. Trueman provides a review of the history associated with the post-modern worldview this includes the assessment that sexuality and the issues surrounding sexuality in our current culture are a function of the broader notion of how we understand ourselves to be human beings.
For a more advanced discussion from Dr. Trueman, consider the podcast link below that includes the first of three lectures that was rebroadcast via the INCONTEXT series by Michael Easley.
